XIOS is probably the only client technology that makes it possible to create rich applications without any programming and without any installation or plug-ins on the client computer (I.e. zero-footprint). Other client technologies exist for creating rich applications, but they require extensive programming, do not provide integration between created applications, multiple application instance creation and often require installation of the created application or framework on the local client. Especially AJAX frameworks, requires a lot of advanced programming.

Xcerion on the other side have focused their development efforts on creating the operating system for rich client applications that can run on any operating system without any installation. Our technology is created to be able to work with any server technology and provide the client that gives XML Web Services a user interface. It’s the technology for putting a user interface on top on Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), RSS and microformats. As a developer using XIOS you may therefore choose to use our server resources, or implement your own XML Web Services that connect to XIOS.
